This file list of wines is an informal list of some wines available in liquor stores in Western Newfoundland. Trying different wine is a great way to discover what a grape variety or wine type is susposed to taste like, and whether or not you like it. It can save you money if your planning on buying a $50 wine kit. If you buy a bottle of Chianti and discover you don't like it you're not going to spend the money on a wine kit you'll never drink.
All the wines on this list are between $8 and $15. Please remember, everyone's taste is different, just because I like a wine doesn't mean you will. It may be useful as a guidline if you have not bought much wine.
I've had quite a bit of e-mail asking for advice on beer. I don't make a lot of beer, and there are already quite a few sites out there devoted to beer. Regardless, if your looking for a beer recipe here are three which I've found very good. The first is for a Canadian Lager, the second is a Canadian Ale, and the third is an all purpose recipe for Homemade Beer. Please download them and enjoy.
Please send me mail telling me what you think about the book or this page and how I might improve either.
If you have a question about winemaking I'll do my best to answer it for you. If I can't I'll try to find someone who can. I check my e-mail daily but it could be several days before I get back to you depending on how busy I am.
If you found this website helpful and you'd like to help keep it going, Please click the donate button. It's totally secure. Any amount will be appreciated.
